UC Davis Retirees Association

Since the October 2024 CUCRA meeting at UC Santa Cruz, the UC Davis Retirees Association (UCDRA) has continued to meet in person and sponsor events, such as the Holiday Luncheon, with the Retiree Center. We have also purchased a number of baseball caps with UCD Retiree on the front to give away to new association members.

Retiree Center staffing has remained consistent, and the office in Sacramento is now open and providing service to medical center retirees and future retirees. Monthly coffee socials hosted by the Center in Davis continue to be very popular, and the Center also plans to host a field trip to the Bodega Bay Marine Lab in the summer, a trip that had to be postponed in 2020 because of the pandemic.

UCDRA has elected to sit out the UC Davis Give Day this year in order to look for another recipient of our donations because the UC Davis Staff Emergency Fund, which we supported last year, is going to phased out of existence.

We are also revamping our website, and to that end we hired a photographer to take pictures at the Holiday Luncheon (including head shots for all board members) to incorporate into the mix of information.

Last month we said goodbye to John Meyer with a luncheon and a gift of season tickets to UC Davis women’s basketball.
