Contact Sue via EmailSue retired from service at UCLA in 2010 as Associate Vice Chancellor-Corporate Financial Services/Controller, a position she held for fifteen years. Her 40+ year career at UCLA began as a student employee. She also served terms as President , Vice President/President-Elect, and Member-at-Large of the UCLA Retirees Association. During retirement, Sue is actively involved in the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of Childhelp, an organization committed to preventing and treating child abuse. Her involvement includes two terms as Treasurer of the Chapter and, most recently, as database and website administrator implementing and managing the Chapter's membership management system. Sue also enjoys traveling, quilting, needlework, reading, cycling, and Jazzercise.

Contact Emily via EmailEmily Galindo retired from UCDavis in 2020 as the Interim Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. Her 36½ years of service to the Davis campus included 25 years in Student Housing and Dining Services in a variety of leadership roles. She currently serves as the Past President for the UC Davis Retirees Association, following two years as its President. Her service to the board also included time as the communications officer. Retirement has given Emily time to travel, to volunteer at her church and to spend time with her two youngest grandchildren.

Contact Elise via EmailElise Woods is President & Treasurer of UC Retirees’ at Berkeley (UCRAB), UC Retirees Travel Trip Liaison, and a member of CUCRA’s 2024 Survey Committee. Elise earned her MS in Organizational Psychology from Saint Mary’s College of California and her BS from UC Davis in Human Development.
Prior to her retirement in 2018, Elise served as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Director of Finance, Business and Operations of the UC Berkeley Libraries. Elise was a strong contributor over the 22 years, starting as an Operations Analyst and progressing to the senior leadership role of CAO. Elise’s 36-year career within the UC system covered a broad range of administrative roles in organizational effectiveness, business administration, strategic planning, training, coaching, and mentoring. She began her UC career at UCSB as a student loan collections analyst, moving on to UCOP as the credit manager for Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), followed by a brief stint as a senior personnel analyst in UCB Human Resources.
Elise earned numerous certificates and awards; Excellence in Management (2), Executive Coaching, distinguished service, achievement and the Chancellor’s Outstanding Staff award. Elise's vast institutional knowledge of the Library and the University positioned her as the "Go-to-Gal" for questions, policy, or as a sounding board for colleagues. Elise keeps her positive attitude and energy at its peak by running through the East Bay trails, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Contact John via EmailAfter a total of 46 years at UCLA as student and career staff, John Dahl continues to be active on the campus and enjoys encouraging and welcoming his long-time colleagues and friends to join the UCLA Retirees Association (UCLARA) as they retire. At UCLA he served in External Affairs (fund raising and advocacy), the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science, Corporate Financial Services, and Academic Planning and Budget. John has served as president and treasurer of UCLARA and now currently serves as chair of the Membership Marketing Committee and chair of the IT Committee.

Contact Pat via EmailPat Price began her career in UC Irvine’s Academic Personnel Office in 1976. Prior to that, she was an elementary school teacher. She holds a B.A. and M.Ed. From Whittier College and an M.A. from USC., as well as a California Lifetime Elementary Education credential. Pat became Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Personnel in 1997. During her service she received UCI's Lauds and Laurels Award for Outstanding Staff member. Upon her retirement in 2012, after 36 years of service, she was awarded Emeritus status. From July, 2008 thru December, 2011 she also served as Interim Director of Academic Personnel at the Office of the President. During her career she chaired and served on numerous systemwide committees and served as lead on various projects. She became a member of the UCI Retirement Association Board in the Fall, 2016 and currently serves as its CUCRA representative.
In retirement, Pat spends her time traveling, attending Broadway shows, concerts and quilting. She is an active member of her quilting guild’s philanthropy group who create and donate quilts to various Orange County hospitals and organizations. Recently, she led their efforts to gather and send quilts to Maui for victims of the Lahaina fire.

Contact John via EmailJohn Meyer retired from UC Davis in 2014 as its administrative vice chancellor. He joined the campus in 2000 as vice chancellor for planning and budget. Prior to joining the campus, he served as city manager of Davis during the 1990s. Before that position he worked for small consulting firms and the city of Oakland. He holds a bachelor's degree from UC Davis and a master's degree from USC.
Following retirement, he has undertaken several varied pro bono consulting assignments including a management review of the city of Davis, an external review of UC's Berkeley's Real Estate Division and an organizational assessment of the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame. He served as president of the UC Davis Retirees' Association from 2017-19 during which time he was the group's representative to CUCRA. He was a member of UC's Retiree Health Benefits Design Work Group and chair of the UC Health Benefits Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the Healthy Davis Together Advisory Committee designed to assist in opening the campus during this extreme health crisis in partnership with its host community.
Having retired his running shoes and marathoning days, John continues to enjoy hiking, backpacking and cycling. He also uses golf as an excuse for a long walk often interrupted with head shaking and mumbling.

Contact Larry via EmailLarry began his UC career at UC San Diego in 1988 as an Administrative Assistant in the University Bookstore Computer Center. After 30 years of service in various departments, retired from UC San Diego in 2019 as a Computer Resource Specialist with UC San Diego Extension.
Since retirement, Larry has enjoyed traveling with his wife Teresa who is also a retiree from UC San Diego with over 30 years of service. In 2025 they will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
In his spare time Larry enjoys web building, photography, video editing, and watching movies.

Contact Bob via EmailBob began his UC career at University of California, Irvine in 1980 as the Director of Information and Planning Analysis. Here, he stayed for 24 years. In June 2004 he was hired as the Assistant Vice Chancellor in Budget and Planning at University of California, Riverside. Bob retired from UC Riverside 2014.
While working on his graduate degree, he began teaching economics at community colleges. He continued teaching throughout his career with appointments at California State University, Fullerton, and the University of California, Irvine (UCI). At UC Irvine he held the title of Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Economics.
Since retirement, Bob has been actively involved supporting the University of California, CUCRA, and his community. For CUCRA, he served as CUCRA’s Information Officer for four years. He was the President of the UC Riverside Retirees’ Association for five years, and currently is the treasurer for the UCI Retiree Association. Bob is also a member CUCRA’s 2024 Survey Committee and the UCOP Open Enrollment Communication Committee.
Examples of his community activities include serving on his homeowner’s association Board of Directors including serving as its president, being a member of the Ladera Ranch Technology Advisory Committee, and being a mediator for the Orange County, California Superior courts.

Contact Eric via EmailStarting at UCSF in 1978-79, Eric first worked in Campus Planning and later in Capital Programs and Facilities Management before becoming the UCSF Budget Director. He became UCSF’s Associate Vice Chancellor - Finance and shortly after that promoted to be UCSF’s Vice Chancellor of Finance. As the Vice Chancellor he was responsible for UCSF’s financial management, budget & planning activities; the risk management & insurance services; supply chain, purchasing & records management; as well as controller’s office responsible for general, endowment & capital accounting, extramural funds accounting and payroll. He was part of the leadership team that oversaw and directed the acquisition, planning, construction, and funding the development of the UCSF Mission Bay Campus.
During his tenure as Vice Chancellor he was responsible for implementing the UCSF Core Financial Plan, the UCSF 10-year financial projection model, a new chart of accounts to improve both departmental and campuswide financial reporting, as well as implementing a new UCSF-wide budgeting system, the Bear-Buy purchasing and supply chain management system, the UCSF-wide Data Warehouse and a unique research-subject protection program to insure human subjects involved in research protocols were fully protected and cared for. He was also instrumental in getting UC to implement a Total Return Investment Program (TRIP) that significantly enhanced all UC campus’s ability to generate interest income.
Eric Vermillion retired as Vice Chancellor – Finance in 2013 after 35 years at UCSF with Emeritus status. While at UCSF he also served as National Chair for the Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Institutional Planning and as a member of the national board of the Council on Governmental Relations in Washington, D.C. After he retired, in 2016, he also co-authored a book called “Follow the Money” about how research is funded in a large academic health center.
