UC Riverside Retirees' Association Report

October 2021 Report

Submitted by Mary Johnson, President, UCR Retirees' Association

The UCRRA continues to use Zoom for our programs and meetings. The campus is open and busy with students, and we are hopeful that we can hold meetings and programs on campus soon.

Our membership numbers are very good considering our difficulties related to COVID restrictions. We have the following to report: UCRRA Life Members: 212, and 69 Annual Renewals.

Our member benefits are improving. We now have free parking on campus and now have free "R" Cards that provide members with many discounts and easy access to campus services.

The UCRRA Board Members and Center Director, Cristina Otegui, and the campus Financial Aid Office are working together to provide a $5000 scholarship to an Undergraduate Student this quarter. The criteria include preference given to children and grandchildren and/or close relative of non-Senate staff members.
