The Council of University of California Retiree Associations (CUCRA) surveys University of California retirees every four years about their contributions to the University and their accomplishments during their retirement. The survey results highlight how UC retirees remained committed to UC's mission through regular financial contributions and through volunteering for UC and in their home communities. They are also continuing to receive awards and recognitions by staying professionally active. Retirement did not signal an end to the retirees' relationship with the University. It signaled, rather, a shift in that relationship.

Note: 1The PDF of the survey report was updated on April 26, 2021, to correct an error on the Philanthropy page. The number of 2016-17 donors for UC San Diego is now correctly shown as 124, not 24. The error does appear in the print version of the report.
